The Abstract Submission Template must be completed in full and in accordance with the specified guidelines, and then submitted via the Submit Papers section.
In our in-person symposium, participants are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, and other expenses. These expenses will not be covered by the Organizing Committee.
ORAL PRESENTATIONS
All submitted abstracts will be subject to a peer-review process. Based on the evaluation results, each submission will receive a decision of acceptance or rejection. For papers accepted as oral presentations, the allocated presentation time is 15 minutes.
General Guidelines
- Abstracts should be:
- 200–250 words for submissions in Turkish,
- 200–300 words for submissions in English.
- Submissions must be made online through the official symposium website only. Abstracts submitted via email or postal mail will not be accepted.
- Abstracts must be submitted in both Turkish and English. The abstract in the language of the presentation must appear on the first page of the abstract template. Presentations may be delivered in either Turkish or English.
- Participants who wish to present their papers in English are required to submit their abstracts in English only.
- Since accepted abstracts will be published as submitted in the electronic abstract book, authors are responsible for ensuring compliance with Turkish spelling and grammar rules where applicable. Any errors remain the responsibility of the author(s).
- Submitted papers must be original work and must not have been previously published or presented at another congress, symposium, or scientific event.
- Abstracts must not include figures, tables, formulas, or images.
- Each abstract must include a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) keywords.
- Abstracts should not include references, and in-text citations should not be used.
- The name of the presenting author must be clearly indicated in the abstract.
- Papers that are not presented at the symposium will not be included in the abstract book.
- During abstract submission, the presenting author’s name must be underlined.
Publication of Full Papers
Two different options are offered to presenters regarding the publication of the full texts of papers presented as oral presentations.
1. DEU Journal of the Faculty of Letters – “Family” Special Issue:
Presenters who wish may submit the full texts of their papers for consideration in the “Family” Special Issue of the Dokuz Eylül University Journal of the Faculty of Letters, which is indexed in TR Dizin. These submissions will undergo the journal’s double-blind peer review and editorial evaluation processes. Papers that successfully complete the review process will be published in the relevant special issue.
2. Edited Book:
Presenters who wish may choose to have the full texts of their papers published as part of an edited book. After undergoing an editorial review process, and if deemed appropriate, the papers will be published online within an edited volume by Dokuz Eylül University Press.
POSTER PRESENTATION
Posters should preferably be prepared in dimensions of 70 × 100 cm and in a vertical (portrait) orientation.
Poster text must be clearly legible from a distance of 1–2 meters.
Calibri or Times New Roman should be used as the font type.
Main Title
- 64-point, bold, and written in all capital letters
Author Name(s)
- 54-point, bold
- Academic titles should not be included
- Surnames must be written in capital letters
- The presenting author’s name must be underlined
- Email addresses of all authors should be indicated in a smaller font size directly below their names
Affiliation(s)
- 42-point, regular font
- Author affiliations should be matched to names using superscript numbering
- Affiliation information should appear below the author names
Section Headings
- 32–36-point, bold, with only the first letter capitalized
Main Text
- 32–36-point, regular font
References
To reduce visual fatigue, consider using neutral or gray tones for the poster background. Dark colors should be used for text.
Poster Presentation
Poster boards required for display will be provided by the symposium organizers.
